Powdercoat my paintbooth walls? - Southern Polyurethanes Forum

i never liked just a galvanized booth . my flat white booth seems twice as bright . if powder coated you would have better light . i would want know about cleanup . is it an epoxy coating or urethane . i actually painted in one of the old ceramic coated booths. high dollar stuff in the 60's 70's .

no better time than now to spend the little extra or be sorry you didn't ..... :sorrow: Those Powder booths look great.

I'd be worried about paying - extra and have the overspray adhere to it.

Would it be wiser to keep it galvanized and maintained with the white peelable booth coatings? Surely would be cheaper.

Otherwise I would think you would have to use the clear overspray protection or 3m booth plastic rolls over the powdercoat to keep it looking new.

I know I use a lot of black epoxy and my booth is long over due for a new coat of paint. Okay. I like the idea of better light reflection but if it will
be covered by overspray perhaps it will be a waste of $.00
to have it coated. mine came in galvanize. it wasnt long before i epoxied and painted it white. a white booth is night and day but you do need to keep something on the walls to protect it. i use the 3m dirt trap material. its expensive to buy it but it lasts so much longer than anything else i have used so it comes out cheaper. i only change it out every year, year and a half or so. I assume that includes inside and outside also? That is one thing to consider too. If the outside is powder coated white, it will bright up your work area outside of the booth also. a question about the interior coating - Is gloss or satin the preferred sheen?

I was reading up on lighting yesterday and some of the info I read was that a satin white wall would make things appear brighter due to no bright glare spots.
It also said that the color rendition rating should be 90+ and a color of k or so. That is reported to give the eye the most "natural" lighting and makes things appear to be brighter than a lumen meter would state. I was planning on using gloss white but after reading that article I am not sure which direction to go. What is the opinion of you big dogs?
