Product Review: IK Multi Trigger Sprayer – Ask a Pro Blog

About two years ago I was looking for a better spray bottle to use for my chemicals. I got tired of using cheaper flimsy plastic bottles and stumbled upon the Ik Multi Trigger Sprayer.

With competitive price and timely delivery, Welllive sincerely hope to be your supplier and partner.

Immediately, when you hold the bottle you can feel how thick the plastic is and how it is resistant to breaking. When you have products like wheel cleaners, sealants, acid based products, you don’t want a bottle breaking and potentially ruining something in or on the outside of a car, so the thickness and weight of this bottle is a nice change from cheaper, thinner bottles I have used. The weight distribution is in a way that if left on a table or the floor it would be difficult to topple over due to the shape of the bottle and base. It also has a measuring scale on the side of the bottle so you can measure out your ratios of chemicals to water (ie 1:10, 1:5). It comes with a laminated card that is two sided (green and red), which allows you to mark each bottle for easy identification and to reduce the risk of spraying the incorrect chemical onto the surface you are working on. The sprayers can also be ordered in either black or white, which is a nice touch.

My Experience:

As a detailer, outside of our towels, the tools we use to apply our chemicals are the most important things in our collection. I personally have the exterior chemicals written on the red side (wheel cleaners, iron removers) and interior chemicals on the green side (all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner). Color coding and labeling makes your life so much easier and the different tags on these bottles makes my life easier when I am moving fast during a detail. Also, the triggers can be changed out as well so you can get even more creative with organizing. I have had these 4 bottles longer than any other spray bottles I have used in the past and I use them day in and day out. So far over a year later and they are still in great shape! This is the only sprayer I have found that comes so well thought out and it really helps you stay organized and efficient. The ones I have now have already outlasted any sprayers I have had in the past five years, so I can not recommend these bottles enough!

Spray bottles, the best and the worst

IMO, P21S makes some of the best products but sheesh, their spray bottles are beyond horrible. The sprayers that come with TAW and the wheel cleaner dribble so bad that you get more product on the ground and dripping down your arm than on the car. By contrast, the spray bottles that my Pinnacle Crystal Mist came in are outstanding. Same for Zaino and all the Duragloss spray products. The 303 AP sprayer is also very good. What's with P21S? What are the best and worst you've experienced from other product lines?

Something like these:

Amazon.com: Generic Spray Bottle (16 oz): Automotive

and for the tops I use something like these:

Tolco 9-1/4" Grey Model 320CR Trigger Sprayer Chemical Resistant Dip Tube | Tolco 9-1/4" Grey Model 320CR Trigger Sprayer Chemical Resistant Dip Tube

Cheap and effective

Those are the best, most resistant to acids, alkaline chemicals.

Forget all the rest, buy the best, and these are it.

They use Vitex seals and stainless springs, which will withstand chemicals.

Most use simple o-rings and aluminum springs, which is why they soon stop pumping and start leaking.

Grumpy Like any mass produced product, once in a while a dud shows up, but compared to other brands of sprayer heads, less show up with these.

I learned about them a few years ago as VG started distributing them when Tim got fed up with selling sprayheads that were junk, he found these and that's how I got hooked on them.

Grumpy As Bill notes, US Plastics is an excellent source of these viton sprayers for short $$$. I've got half dozen or so. I think all are still working.

Brad came up with this non-conventional source: http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/-interesting-source-bottles-sprayers-more.html

Ohh, when money is no object, look at the Kwazar: http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/-kwazar-spray-bottle.html

And don't forget the SOLO brand pump up sprayers!! They're an excellent value.

....and I certanly expect a dud or two especially at this price point. I've been loking to replace the rest of my aging sprayers due to their dismal performance. The exception is a sprayer I grabbed on impulse from Target a few months back. It has worked flawlessly and I had been planning on picking up a few more of them but was concerned with using certain chemicals in those (since I don't know if the internals are appropriate for those applications). ....the volume of product that sprayer delivers is terrific IMO/IME (and no leaks, clogs, "sticking", etc.).

In either case, I think I will grab ~ 6 of these for starters and give them a whirl. I think I will order a dozen from Bill's source.

I need them, over the years since I retired, had some just wear out, so ran out to the Dollar Store, Ace, WalMart, picked up some to get along and all lasted less than two uses.

Time to step up to bat and get some more good ones, and they are cheaper than I can buy them from my old company!

Grumpy I don't use sprayers often compared to most, but I've got a few of the orange and white/opaque sprayers from Home Depot that have held up for for a few years now. Not sure regular price, but I just picked up a few more for $1 each on sale. One has citrus degreaser that sees almost weekly use around the house and still works great. These are great for turning product into aerosol...Like when using Megs Glass Cleaner Concentrate. They can't be used on thick products.

Nalgene® Polypropylene Aerosol Spray Bottle | U.S. Plastic Corp.

I also love my battery operated sprayers....Not being lazy, they really do help relieve hand cramping, especially if your spraying alot of products all the time..
